Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year, is right around the corner. How do I know this? Because everyday brings an increasing number of fireworks. With all the booms, rockets and noise, I feel like I might be in Baghdad.
All the neighborhood shops have put out boxes of baijiu (Chinese white rice liquor), oranges, red festival decorations and, of course, fireworks.

New Year’s Day is on February 7th. The DH and I are getting ready for our annual New Year vacation. This year we are going to Thailand – one week in Chiang Mai and one week on Koh Samui. We’ll be leaving February 2nd.
Before I leave, I must clean the house and hang up red decorations on my door! I need all the good luck I can get!

Hi! I just found your blog, well, after following a bread crumb trail! Diwali in India was quite a ruckus too with fireworks. Have a terrific time in Thailand. I’m looking forward to reading your posts about it.
Hi Danie! I’ve just been to your blog and I love it!! I wanted to comment on many posts, but unfortunately, my proxy server has been giving me problems with commenting on blogspot and wordpress blogs.
I love following bread crumbs to new and interesting blogs.. I hope you’ll come back!
