Meet Ducky

July 23, 2008

in China, Ducky, Expat Life

It’s been raining everyday since I returned to Linyi. That’s what happens in July & August here. Humidity is out of control, but at least the rain cools the city off a little bit.

Every blog needs a mascot, and I think I’ve gone way too long without one, so meet Ducky.

With all the rain in Linyi, I think it was an appropriate choice. Ducky won out (just barely) over a small garden gnome. The gnome was cool, except for the unfortunate metal prong protruding from his feet. Evidently garden gnomes are actually meant to be inserted into a garden. Ducky likes to travel and he’s soft and easily packable, so look out for more Ducky pics. And if you have any better names for Ducky, please comment. Although my niece & nephew seemed to love the name, I think he deserves something more creative.

Hola Bluestreak! Thanks for commenting. I’ve just been to your blog and I’m so happy to meet a fellow American married to un español! You can join the club I started with la Melanie, (This is how my MIL refers to Melanie Griffith.), for American women married to Spanish guys. Lord knows no one else could possibly understand us, right?!
