Visible moon (a rare thing) and Olympic lanterns on the road to/from the Qingdao Airport

I work at an airport. I’ve lived at an airport. I’m in the process of traveling from one airport to another. I’m not too sure how it will feel to land at Barajas Airport in Madrid tomorrow after news of the tragic Spanair accident that has killed more than 150.

I will be in Spain for the next two and a half weeks. More soon…

Tragic. We depend on air travel so much and though we know that statistically it is the safest form of travel – it still doesn’t make it easy to step on-board – or know loved ones are in the sky. I live in NZ – but all my family are in the UK. Air travel is crucial for our family reunions! My deepest sympathies go out to all the families affected by this recent tragedy. I am deeply saddened and heart broken to think of all those people missing loved ones. Good luck in Madrid. Sarah
