DH & Monkey

DH and his monkey friend
Koh Chang, Thailand 2008

This cute little monkey lived in a hotel/bar a few doors down from where we were staying. We met him this day while we were waiting for a taxi ride to the ferry. The monkey was attached to a pole with a short lease on the side of the road while his babysitter sold gasoline to passing tourists on motorbikes. The little guy was probably very bored and lonely and jumped right on the DH when he approached him. He cuddled for a little while, eventually falling asleep. Later he attempted to “groom” DH’s leg hair, looking for critters. That he found none didn’t seem to bother him in the least. There are monkey families living in the interior forests of Koh Chang that sometimes come down to the road to get fruit from tourists. I don’t how this monkey ended up as a pet. I don’t condone it. Poor little guy probably misses his mommy.

More Wordless Wednesday here.

*Posts will continue to be slim for at least another week…almost finished with my MLS assignments.*
