For a Scrooge, I sure do like to make posts about the holidays… I’m feeling better today. I’m at work and my headache is gone. I guess the day off I had yesterday, lounging around my room helped. That is, until the electricity went off and I had to remain huddled under blankets for the afternoon, worried I would not be able to prepare Mexican tacos with the taco mix I picked up in Vienna. (I know, it sounds wrong, doesn’t it? Taco mix from Austria?)
In the end we had a hot pot dinner with some of our students and that turned out to be a nice way to celebrate Festivus, even though I’m fairly sure no one really understood what the hell it is. It doesn’t translate well, I’m afraid.
I’m feeling the holiday cheer today, which is weird since it is 0815 in the morning and I am a serious Grinch in the mornings. It might be this post by foodie blogger Orangette. A whiskey-soaked chocolate bundt cake is exactly what I would make right now if I actually had an oven… Along with some anise-sugar cookies. Ooh and a pumpkin pie. And some egg nog, oh how I’d love some egg nog. Or egg nog cookies?! (There are lots of yummy things on the latest entry, too.)
