Stephansplatz, Vienna December 2008
I love this photo because it reminds me of what a wonderful place Vienna can be in December. With the Christmas tree beside St. Stephan’s and all the people hurrying here and there, it feels me with holiday cheer. Honestly, though, what I love the most is the fact that I just barely stopped to snap it, without even really looking carefully. My friend T and I were not in tourist mode that evening. I find it so ironic that I was on holiday from my home in China and the one photo I take of this iconic place prominently features a Chinese couple.
Hope your holidays are merry!

Great picture! We are here right now and I can’t get over how beautiful it is!
I love the light in this photograph. We have been in Budapest for Christmas and are headed to Vienna in the morning. Between this photo and Jen’s photos of cakes in Vienna, I am even more convinced that we made a good decision adding Vienna to our itinerary.
That brings back memories! We spent New Year’s Eve 2004/2005 in Vienna. It’s a beautiful city that’s for sure.
A couple who look like they are trying to get a great photo too! I’ve never been to Vienna but would definitely like to go at this time of year when I do. Lovely photo.
Thanks for all your comments! Vienna is quickly becoming one of my favorite cities, I am glad to share it with you all!
What a great shot! Must add Vienna at Christmas to my “must see” list
It’s funny how some of those unplanned shots end up being some of your favorite photos, isn’t it?
