One Year Ago

This week marks one year since the devastating earthquake that hit China’s Sichuan Province. There is already so much commentary out there, I’ll simply observe the anniversary and invite you to view some incredible photos taken by Derrick Chang, a Canadian photographer based in Hong Kong. When I found out we were moving to China, Derrick’s Dalian-based blog was the first I visited.

Last December, Derrick visited the earthquake zone, (Yingxiu and Dujiangyan), documenting in photos the devastation and recovery. Photos of destroyed buildings are juxtaposed next to children’s smiling faces, and are testament to the resilience of the Sichuan people.

There is still a long road ahead for the survivors. Here’s something you can do to help.
