It’s that time of year again – thunderstorms in the afternoon. I’m sitting at my desk, looking out the window at a sky that is a very unnatural shade for 2:30 in the afternoon. I wouldn’t mind a bit, except for the fact that the DH is somewhere out there in a tiny little plane.
Man I hate flying.
*Update 1600hrs: The DH is safely on the ground. His student has a very serious look on his face, but it was just another day at the office for DH. I’m glad I do not have his job.*

I can relate, 100%
I love pilot wives! No one else quite gets it, right? Ivan just landed, fortunately, but we’ve still got 3 planes out and the weather is not getting any better…
Yikes. I remember when Rod was training in Tucson… Those super-nasty-monsoons could spring up at any moment. I finally had to tell him that, unless he REALLY needed to talk about it, I did not want to know how many times he almost died in a day.
Everyone get on the ground ok?
Yes, they did, but of course everyone in the operations office was freaking out. I think everyone got a lecture about how you can’t fly within one million kilometers of a thunderstorm in China.
Mm-Hm… The saying, “In one ear and out the other” often applies to lectures about what should and should not be done while flying in China…
Well said Elizabeth, the speech was more like on the lines of blaming the gueilo!
