This week’s theme = quiet
It’s a quiet Sunday evening here at Casa Global Gal. The whole house smells of curry and the DH and I are ensconced in our usual spot watching random TV shows and movies, anything we can find on Youku.com or Tudou.com really. The usual spot, in case you’re wondering, is our bedroom. Despite living in a 100m2, three-bedroom apartment, we spend all our time in our room. That’s what happens when your 100m2 apartment is unheated and barely furnished. As for the curry, we were elated to find a Taiwanese brand curry paste for sale in our local supermarket’s imported food section. We’ve been eating it all weekend.
The past week has been pretty quiet, as well. We started out the week right with a holiday on Monday for Qing Ming festival, or Tomb Sweeping Day. I fully expected fireworks and lots of burning in our neighborhood, but the day passed without any fanfare at all. Tuesday through Friday I willed myself to go to work where I planned upcoming classes on exciting topics like “hazards of windshear” and “risks of hypoxia.” Can’t you tell I’m over my job!?
I suppose the only real excitement was our little trip to the ER, which I already blogged about. Hmm. We need a different kind of excitement in our lives.
Oh yeah, the other day I encountered a chicken in our apartment stairwell. I guess that’s exciting. And the temperatures are steadily rising here in Linyi so that’s good, too.
I have a feeling this week is going to be better, although I do have to teach on Friday and I’ll probably spend the whole week worrying about it. Have a great week!
