If I can shake the procrastination bug! Oh, blog… What should I do with you? Every day away makes it harder to come back. Fear not, however, I do have a plan for you.

The US Consulate thinks the DH wants to throw away his dream job and fabulous Beijing apartment for an illegal visa overstay in the US where he would be unable to work and would constantly risk deportation. Hmmm… Great job in China vs. crappy existence in the USA… All he needed was a two week [...]

Still busy with work, planning a trip to Laos and reading tons of interesting stuff about the Flying Tigers American Volunteer Group in China 1941-1942. I’m not sure when I’ll be back here, but I do think of the blog from time to time and I sigh. The will to blog must return soon!

It is a prison in the Philippines that has choreographed yard exercises to mimic popular music videos and musical routines. The prisoner portraying Michael’s date is a hysterical touch.

So I’ve just been reading about the Virginia Tech killings and I am just shocked. As a pacifist, it is so difficult for me to understand how or why someone would do something like this. But I am also a realist and I am all too aware of the high level of violence in our [...]
